Update: No, Saranac did not pay me to blog this- just doing my part in promoting good beer and the Mohawk Valley!  Support Ilion by buying Remington too- as Tim pointed out- guns go well with beer.

I got an email today from Saranac about a new contest they’re putting on; they’re calling it The Golden Ticket, and the winners get an Ultimate Tour of the Utica Club brewery! I’ve been on the tour several times and I’ve told friends that it reminded me of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory; apparently I’m not the only one who thought so. They’ll be hiding golden tickets in their Beers of Winter sampler, and will also have an online drawing that you can enter here. The prize package includes dinner and a tour with the owners, and a one night stay at the Hotel Utica. Very cool.

On a side note (well, a couple of side notes), Saranac released their Octoberfest and Pumpkin Ale for the Fall- I love the Octoberfest, though their Pale Ale still tops my list. I wasn’t a big fan of the Pumpkin Ale, but then again I didn’t like most of the pumpkin flavored things I had this Fall. Calin loved it.

On my second side note, even if you don’t win the golden ticket you should check out one of the tours- they’ve put a lot of time and money into the entire experience making for an entertaining and educational tour- oh yeah, plus you get to try two of any of the beers they make at the end
