Stop the Madness

Friday, May 16th, 2008

I get a large coffee from Starbucks most mornings and drink it for the rest of the day (even when it’s cold by afternoon).  Is that gross? Does that make me an addict? :)

Exploring Webster

Sunday, January 8th, 2006

Calin and I went to the Royal Dynasty Chinese restaurant last night; we called ahead and ordered a Peking Duck- I had it once in Manhattan, but Calin had never had it. It was really good; I wanted to take a picture, but we thought it would look weird if I took a picture of our meal at the restaurant.

We also got to visit the two indy coffee houses in the area. On Saturday we walked to Webster Village and got coffee at Joe Bean. It had a really good atmosphere- better than I thought it would. Then today we went to Earthtones after church; they also had an awesome atmosphere. Both served Finger Lakes Coffee, and both had free wireless internet, so we’ll probably be visiting them more often.

We still haven’t found (or actively looked for) any really good bars in the area, but there is a billiard hall that we want to try out sometime.

I know what I want for Christmas…

McDonalds Coffee

Monday, October 3rd, 2005

I had to get into work early this morning (I know most people don’t consider 8:00am early, but that’s early for me), and I needed something more than cereal or a muffin for breakfast, so I stopped into McDonald’s. For those who don’t know, they recently released new “Premium Roast” coffee there- I was intrigued by the commercials, but hadn’t stopped in- I figured they had nowhere to go but up from what they used to have. Wow. Their coffee was pretty good, not spectacular, but pretty good- I’ll still go to Starbucks or a different small place before McDonald’s, but their new coffee is up there; definitely better than Dunkin’ Donuts. I guess that’s what happens when you have the money to spend on research and such. The only problem they’ll have is that a lot of people loved their old coffee, so they probably should carry both- at least for a while- to make everyone happy.
