Governor Spitzer was in Rochester Yesterday to announce that they’re tearing down Midtown Plaza to build a new headquarters building for Paetec. It should be good for downtown- Anyway, Here’s a video from the 60s about Midtown Plaza- it has that awesome 1960s documentary feel to it.

Calin and I joined the choir at church recently- I’d almost forgotten how much I enjoy singing; it hasn’t been all that long since singing at RIT in various capacities, but it’s amazing how just the 1 hour of singing can make the stress of the day melt away.

I’ve gone back and forth about trying out for the Eastman Rochester Chorus- I always find one excuse or another for not doing it. I’m probably just scared of rejection; that and the cost of buying a tux :).

I cancelled my myspace account the other day; here’s a brief list of grievances:

• Custom backgrounds/colors: people just don’t understand readability
• Unsolicited sounds/music
• Friend requests from bots ALL THE TIME
• Clutter
• Overall sketchiness

I’m still on facebook; it still has a fairly clean interface, and I haven’t gotten any spam or “friend request spam” from it like I did on myspace.  The only problem I have with it are all of these applications and application requests which are just adding to the clutter.  We’ll see how it goes.

I just saw an article today that says an episode of The Office is going to be based in Utica- I guess it’s pretty much the Scranton of New York, so it fits.  They said the Chamber of Commerce sent some Utica items out for the episode;  The first things that came to mind were Saranac Beer, and Chicken Riggies -neither of which would be generally be found in an office.  Oooo- maybe they’ll send some Hemstroughts Half Moon cookies mmmmm.  Read the article at the link below:
